Eat Them to Defeat Them - Getting Fun, Food and Education to Meet.

The Super Yummy Kitchen is a concept that our Client Chartwells have produced to get fun, food and education to meet.

Our role at Frasershot was to bring this to life in a kid friendly manner to captivate children and teach them life skills both in cooking and nutrition……Then COVID hit us like a frying pan to the face! Lockdown began and this was when we saw the real work begin…

This has by far been the most bonding and challenging project we have worked on - whilst at home on full lockdown it has been The Super Yummy Conference calls that became our refuge and a break from the home schooling! It has been our parent intel combined with the wealth of knowledge and know how from our Clients that allowed us to evolve this project plan and use this dreadful pandemic in a positive way by adapting the initial brief and providing parents and children an online learning platform; The Super Yummy Kitchen.

This project road the storm of Covid and Frasershot adapted to this new and temporary way of working by lessons in audio and filming, loaning of kit and helping in which ever way possible to make this project come to life. Our kids even found themselves featuring in the filming too which was definitely a bonding exercise and one that they grabbed both hands with. And as the projects grew so did the filming sessions and voiceovers for the kids. We are grateful for the life lessons our kids have learnt - in the nutrition and cooking skills (which included samosa from scratch and katsu curry, (something our kids would never have touched) now a firm favourite in our household. Darcy (our daughter 6 years) now makes meals from scratch and is testament to the success of this worthwhile concept.

Thankfully as we all emerged from Lockdown we were able to offer a much more professional look and feel to the short films with the professional team our Clients have come to expect from us.

The Super Yummy Kitchen has gone from strength to strength attracting the attention of the Public Health Scheme - Eat Them to Defeat Them that have partnered up with ITV, Channel 4, Veg Power, Coop, Asda & Sainsburys in a bid to encourage kids to eat more vegetables.

This is the latest initiative from the award-winning Eat Them to Defeat Them campaign, which ran its second campaign in spring 2020. Created by Veg Power and ITV, with the support of Channel 4, Sky and 10 retail and food brands, the TV campaign reached over 46 million people and the schools programme reached 425,000 primary school age kids, with 76% of them saying it made veg more fun.
